• Question: do you enjoy going on space missions?

      Hi! Although I’m currently a round-2 candidate for an astronaut programme, I’m not yet going on the missions (as in going into space myself!) However, designing the missions (from the start which is designing the mission concept, to even it’s death – it’s end of life!) is really enjoyable!

      A space mission requires lots of people and subsystems to work together – kind of like a sports team!
      We have mission analysis (we design the orbits and make sure it all works together), to thermal subsystems, power, comms etc – it takes a team! This, of course, can present some challenges, but everyone works together to make the mission a success!

    Hi, I don’t go to missions on space. Only a few people in the world do this at the moment. I work however to improve this and let more people go through space by improving the technology of flight etc. One day you might go to space if we all work together to make space travel possible for all.
