For me it’s the Single European Sky program. You could definitely see how you are making a difference for a more sustainable future of aviation.

I think the project I enjoyed the most was during my time as an intern at NASA when I worked on a project called HyDRUS. The aim of our project was to develop an imaging system that could study harmful algae blooms over some of the great Lakes in the US from a small remote controlled airplane. The project was very hands on and the team was small so we really got to know one another and we learned how to work with each other super well. During the project we got to design, build, and test the imaging system and it was really fun to do a wide range of engineering and science tasks for this project!

For me so far I think it was my university Masters project – I was using machine learning and artificial intelligence to make forecasts for part of the Earths atmosphere called the ionosphere. I had only learnt to code a year before and didn’t know much about machine learning, but being able to apply what I did know and learn new things was a fun challenge.
